Meet Brittany

Brittany Taylor was born on the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg Territory, and belongs to the Community of Curve Lake First Nations Treaty 20.

Raised in the trendy Bloor West Village of Toronto, she’s blessed to have been introduced to many influential and generous individuals throughout her life.

Her Grandfather Herman Dean Taylor a local hunter, trapper and fishing guide in his earlier life, brought his granddaughter back home to their ancestral lands in his final stages of this life. Teaching her the ways of her people, showing her her place in honouring nibi (water), guiding her through the trails of her ancestors.

Through the bond with her grandfather, her connection to the land and waters grew which opened the door to her teachers, guides, elders and ancestors showing her the way to minobimadzwin.

She is the proud owner of Wildwood Studio, an online and marketplace (vendor space) home decor studio in the Kawartha Lakes area. She is an in-demand singer, artist, storyteller, designer and knowledge keeper.

Equally at home hand-lettering, painting, or designing the next upcycled piece for her business – and – creating and sharing with flair on social media, Brittany is proud to represent her family line, grateful for the elders who have gone before her who have made her life today possible.

What she enjoys most is witnessing the spark of connection in people who are listening with their hearts.

Please do not hesitate to connect and explore collaborations! Her wish for the community and the land is to foster shared experiences of beauty, trust, joy and building the future together.

As an Indigenous owned and operated business, we recognize that it is our responsibility to hold balance and keep an ecological lifestyle that serves as a method for improving the connections between people and the products they use.” ~ Brittany

That approach is colossal in the framework of Wildwood Studios and it is boundless in their design.
